I had the privilege of being introduced to lacrosse in high school and went on to play in college. Although I've always had a love for fitness, it wasn't until I got to experience playing alongside others that I found true fulfillment. Sports are a huge part of who I am — the competition, the teammates, the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself— indescribable, but...

The moment sports truly saved my life was when my dad got sick. While I watched him fight, RUNNING became my anchor. It kept me sane. It gave me a place to put the fear, the grief, the love. When I ran, I wasn't just moving my body — I was connecting to God and finding my way through the hardest thing I've ever faced.

That's the power of sports. It's not just about winning or staying fit. It's about friendship, confidence, and finding that childlike joy that makes life worth living — even in the darkest moments. Although my dad didn't win his fight, he left me with wisdom I carry every single day. He stood for living a life that inspires, supports, and elevates others. I choose to honor that through sport.

That's why I'm running the New York City Marathon for Rally Cap Sports. They give kids with special needs the chance to experience exactly what I've described — the joy, the connection, the belonging. Every child deserves a team. Every child deserves to compete, to grow, and to feel that spark!!
