This March, I’ll be running the NYC Half Marathon for a cause close to my heart: RallyCap Sports, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating sports opportunities for children and young adults with special needs. RallyCap Sports believes that “all individuals, regardless of ability, should have the chance to play sports and be part of a team” (source).
As the parent of a vibrant and optimistic 20-year-old daughter with special needs, I’ve seen firsthand how participation in activities builds confidence, fosters joy, and creates community. Her energy and love of life inspire me every day, and I want to help more young people experience the same sense of inclusion and belonging that sports provide.
RallyCap Sports offers programs designed to be inclusive and fun, ensuring that every participant can thrive. Your donation will go directly toward supporting their mission of breaking down barriers and creating unforgettable experiences for children and young adults with special needs (source).
